MEI are proud to stock and supply Norsap Bridge Chairs, parts for Norsap chairs as well as Varivane Marine Furniture.
CuNi (Copper Nickel alloys) are widely used in Marine, seawater and Industrial applications due to their:
- Excellent resistance to seawater corrosion
- Good fabrication qualities, and
- Natural antifouling properties. CuNi is one of the very few alloys with natural Antifouling properties.
- Proven lower economic cost on a life cycle cost basis.
CuNi has provided reliable service for several decades whilst offering effective solutions to today's technological challenges.
CuNi seawater systems are common in many industries such as shipping (both Naval and Commercial), offshore oil and gas production, power stations, desalination plants and other coastal industrial plants. The main use of seawater is for cooling purposes, fire-fighting, Bilge and Ballast waters, Heat Exchangers, etc.
CuNi’s mechanical properties allow them to be produced in a vast range of product forms and are readily fabricated even into the most complicated designs. The most commonly used CuNi (Copper Nickel) is 90/10 which in very simple terms is 90% Copper and 10% Nickel (other metals do form a small part of the mix). CuNi 90/10 is most commonly notated as CuNi 90/10.
It is relevant to note that most of the world's navies have decided to use CuNi 90/10 as a standard for piping in surface vessels due to the quality outcomes and long terms costs effectiveness achieved. Due to CuNi becoming more widely available worldwide this also means sources for supply of material are easily accessible.
Here at MEI we've been stocking and supplying Copper Nickel (CuNi) alloys for seawater applications to a broad range of customers for over 20 years. In that time we've realised many previously un-thought of applications for CuNi that could benefit your business in terms of savings, manpower and time.
MEI also regularly sources and supplies CuNi 70/30 for both marine and industrial applications, including ship board use and for use as condenser tube.
